It is strange to enter a religious temple and meet these almost cartoon figures inside.
This is the Church of St. Martin in the settlement with a name full of suggestion – Biersdorf. No, it doesn’t derive from the German word for beer – ‘das Bier’, because it was first mentioned as Bersdorf.
The church was built in 1908 and has Neo-Romanesque furnishings. But the mural paintings…
…they date from 1927 and are work of art by a Munich artist named Nicolaus Krämer.
